US-based company Fiserv’s IT hiring declined 47.7% in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 45.22% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 39.59% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2021, and recorded a 2.23% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Fiserv IT hiring in September 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Fiserv, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 75.81% in September 2021, and a 56.31% drop over August 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 9.33% in September 2021, and registered a decline of 33.78%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 8.19% in September 2021, a 12.24% drop from August 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Fiserv

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in September 2021 with a 47.05% share, which marked a 65.79% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 43.05%, registering a 23.13% month-on-month decline. South & Central America was the third leading region with a 5.14% share and a 42.55% drop over August 2021.

In the fourth place was Europe with a share of 4.76% and a month-on-month decline of 24.24%.

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 44% share in September 2021, a 67.23% decline over August 2021. US featured next with a 42.86% share, down 19.35% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 4.57% share, a decline of 40% compared with August 2021.

Junior Level jobs lead Fiserv IT hiring activity in September 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 83.62%, down by 51.6% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 15.81% share, a decline of 45.75% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 0.38% share, down 94.12% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.19%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
