December 2021 has seen a decrease of 7.33% in the overall hiring activity when compared with November 2021. IT jobs accounted for a 17.93% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in December 2021, registering a decrease of 0.12% over the last three-month average share.

Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 13.85% in December 2021, marking a 7.93% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 13.8% in December 2021, a 33.87% drop from November 2021. The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 49.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s banking and payments industry during December 2021 over previous month. KBC Ancora posted 360 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered an increase of 249.51% over the previous month, followed by KBC Group with 356 jobs and an 8.21% growth. ING Group with 300 IT jobs and SIX Group with 203 jobs, recorded a 167.86% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while JPMorgan Chase recorded a 3.08% decline with 189 job postings during December 2021.

Poland featured next with a 15.98% share, down 23.41% over the previous month. Belgium recorded a 9.93% share, a growth of 200% compared with November 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.95%, down by 7.62% from November 2021. Mid Level positions with a 13.87% share, registered a decline of 24.51% compared with the previous month. In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.47% share, down 27.34% over November 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.71%, recording a month-on-month decline of 36.13%.
