October 2021 has seen a decrease of 0.66% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 58.12% in October 2021, a 1.63% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.01% in October 2021, marking a 5.97% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.48% in October 2021, a 10.3% rise from September 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 11.82% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s banking and payments industry during October 2021 over previous month.
Banco Santander posted 519 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 9.58% over the previous month, followed by Barclays with 430 jobs and a 154.44% growth. KBC Group with 315 IT jobs and Citigroup with 247 jobs, recorded a 2.78% drop and a 17.67% drop, respectively, while Zurich Insurance Group recorded a 24.46% increase with 173 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s banking and payments industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 33.1% share in October 2021, a 19.24% increase over September 2021. Poland featured next with a 17.12% share, down 3.99% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 6.19% share, a growth of 4.81% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.59%, up by 2.57% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.31% share, registered a decline of 0.86% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.39% share, up 17.61% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.71%, recording a month-on-month decline of 2.33%.
