November 2021 has seen an increase of 0.19% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 17.89% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 58.36% in November 2021, a 2.43% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 18.03% in November 2021, marking a 0.77% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 13.02% in November 2021, a 2.97% drop from October 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in Europe’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.05% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s banking and payments industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Banco Santander posted 434 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered a decline of 20.07% over the previous month, followed by Citigroup with 414 jobs and a 62.99% growth. KBC Group with 317 IT jobs and SIX Group with 203 jobs, recorded a 4.23% drop and a 61.11% rise, respectively, while JPMorgan Chase recorded a 306.25% increase with 195 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s banking and payments industry

The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 31.35% share in November 2021, a 7.41% decrease over October 2021. Poland featured next with an 18.07% share, up 4.97% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 7.13% share, a growth of 12.23% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.27%, down by 4.03% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.12% share, registered a decline of 2.53% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 12.18% share, up 3.55% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.43%, recording a month-on-month growth of 54.43%.
