November 2021 has seen an increase of 1.31% in the overall hiring activity when compared with October 2021.

IT jobs accounted for a 20.77% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in November 2021, registering a decrease of 1.47% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in November 2021

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 68.71% in November 2021, a 1.02% rise over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 13.05% in November 2021, marking a 9.91% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 7.5% in November 2021, a 3.53% rise from October 2021.

Top five banking and payments companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in November 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 22.38% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s banking and payments industry during November 2021 over previous month.

Citigroup posted 1,204 IT jobs in November 2021 and registered an increase of 21.13% over the previous month, followed by Wells Fargo with 924 jobs and a 3.47% growth. JPMorgan Chase with 484 IT jobs and KBC Group with 454 jobs, recorded a 231.51% rise and a 150.83% rise, respectively, while Barclays recorded a 37.35% decline with 374 job postings during November 2021.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s banking and payments industry

India commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 67.74% share in November 2021, a 2.88% increase over October 2021. Australia featured next with a 9.57% share, up 3.74% over the previous month. Singapore recorded an 8.12% share, a growth of 4.61% compared with October 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.27%, up by 0.65% from October 2021. Mid Level positions with a 40.37% share, registered a growth of 7.49% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.69% share, up 2.06% over October 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 2.66%, recording a month-on-month growth of 5.05%.
