Diebold, an Ohio-based self-service technology and security systems provider, has launched new automated teller machines (ATMs), Diebold 429, in Indian markets.
The ATMs are world’s first intelligent-powered, greenest and most power efficient, claims the company.
Diebold 429 ATM requires only 70 watts of power and consumes 40% less energy than other ATM models. The energy saved from 2,000 Diebold 429 ATMs could be used to power over 1,200 Indian homes annually.
The machines are equipped with smart power management system and dispenser control technology that helps the ATM to operate under minimal power requirements.
Diebold chief innovation officer and executive vice president, Frank A Natoli Jr, said offering a variety of power options maximises terminal uptime and delivers convenience to consumers.
"The low power consumption of the Diebold 429 ATM is unprecedented across the globe. This ATM demonstrates Diebold’s ability to respond to the unique challenges of our customers with an innovative solution. The 429 will serve as a platform for power consumption and energy conservation in our future ATM designs, enabling more opportunities to incorporate optional solar panels and backup batteries," Natoli added.
