MENA-based financial institution Mashreq has entered Pakistan’s commercial banking market with the rollout of NEO BIZ, a digital proposition tailored to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), sole proprietors, and self-employed individuals.

The service draws on the lender’s cross-border banking operations to shift administrative financial tasks online.

In its initial deployment, NEO BIZ consolidates business accounts, payment processing, collections, and ancillary merchant services into a unified portal.

Qualifying firms can complete onboarding and conduct day-to-day account operations remotely, removing the requirement to visit physical branches.

The product roadmap schedules the phased introduction of business debit and virtual cards, payroll solutions, invoice-based payments, transaction analytics, and native bookkeeping tools.

Mashreq also plans to expand the platform through Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) architecture and commercial alliances.

Staged integrations will add supply chain solutions, tax facilitation, invoicing tools, and cash flow-based financing to reduce operational overhead for expanding firms.

Distribution across Pakistan will rely on an omnichannel model combining proprietary digital interfaces, partner networks, and phygital touchpoints.

Through the rollout, the institution seeks to expand digital payment acceptance among smaller firms, raise electronic banking uptake across the SME sector, and support the broader transition towards a formalised, digitally connected financial system.

Mashreq Bank Pakistan CEO Muhammad Hamayun Sajjad said: “Pakistan’s SME sector is both dynamic and under-served, with significant gaps in access, awareness and digital capability. With NEO BIZ, we are introducing a platform that is built specifically for the realities of this market, one that simplifies banking, reduces dependency on physical channels and supports businesses as they grow.

“This launch is a natural extension of our commitment to Pakistan and aligns with our broader vision of enabling financial inclusion and supporting the country’s economic transformation through digital innovation.”
