dynamic and integrated work across the company with the goal of

2012.”

The United Services Automobile Association
(USAA) – the US lender dedicated to providing financial
services to American military personnel and their families –
achieved an instant hit when it introduced the first iPhone app to
offer remote cheque deposit in August 2009.

Chase followed suit;
it launched Chase Mobile Deposit in July last year, backed up
by a major advertising campaign.

The country’s largest
retail lender, Bank of America, has been running tests to
launch its own mobile cheque deposit feature.

Bank of America has been
the most successful of the major US banks in promoting the use
of the mobile channel with over 5m of its customers
signed up to use the service; it is aiming to
offer remote cheque deposit by early
2012.
