UniCredit, Italy’s largest banking group by assets, has chosen to install ATMs and cash recycling systems from self-service vendor Wincor Nixdorf that will replace nearly 50% of its current self-service systems over the next three years.

The announcement follows the companies agreeing to work together for the next 36 months from the end of March 2013.

Around 2,000 Cineo generation systems from Wincor Nixdorf are expected to be rolled out to UniCredit branches by 2015.

As well as being involved in the delivery and implementation of the systems, Wincor Nixdorf will also ensure the regular and preventative maintenance of the systems.

Head of IT Support at UniCredit Bank Stefano Cenci said: "In Wincor Nixdorf we have a partner that not only takes care of the technology side but also deeply focus on the quality of the services. With the recently signed contract we aim to offer our customers more services while delivering high availability of our systems at all times."
