U.S. Bank has inked an agreement with Intuit in order to enable its customers to share financial data in a secure way.

Customers of the bank utilising Intuit’s financial management tools including QuickBooks will be able to use an API when importing account data.

Through this process, the connection is authorised without the need for customers to share their data with a third party.

U.S. Bank executive vice president of omnichannel Gareth Gaston said: “U.S. Bank partnering with Intuit is an important step in making it even simpler for our customers to access their financial data.

“Our customers have more choices than ever to help them with their financial health – ranging from our newly redesigned mobile app to improved connections through third-party applications like Intuit’s Mint, TurboTax and QuickBooks.”

Intuit has signed data-sharing agreements with various other lenders in the past, including Canada’s BMO Financial Group, British lender Lloyds, and US banking group Wells Fargo.
