State Bank of India (SBI), the largest public sector lender in the country, has rolled out doorstep banking services at select branches.

The service is meant only for senior citizens above 70 years of age and differently-abled customers.

The new service will be available to all the eligible customers who reside within 5km from their home branch.

Additionally, only KYC- compliant account holders with a valid mobile number registered with the bank can avail the service.

However, the service is not available for joint account holders or customers with accounts of non-personal nature.

The scope of SBI doorstep banking service includes cash pickup, cash delivery, cheque pickup and cheque requisition slip pickup.

The bank in its official release said that it will charge a fee of INR100 for financial transaction and INR60 for non-financial transactions per visit.

The amount of cash deposits and withdrawals has been limited to INR20,000 per transaction per day, reported Times Now.

To avail the service, the customers are required to register themselves at their respective home branches. The differently-abled customers need to submit medical certificates.
