UK-headquartered regtech Konsentus is launching an open banking international membership programme, Open Banking Exchange. This has been established to leverage the past achievement and knowhow of Open Banking Europe (OBE). Moreover, it will enable open banking and open finance around the world.
Konsentus says the European success of OBE generates a global demand for a series of national and regional membership programmes. Specifically, this will enable each community to find practical solutions to issues relating to open banking and open finance.
OBE has a proven track record of building collaborative environments. In turn, this enables its members to identify market issues and implement solutions via guidance, standards and tools. In addition, this creates trusted relationships with regulators, self-regulated organisations (SROs) and national communities to implement effective and interoperable open solutions based on jurisdiction neutral technology frameworks.
Open Banking Exchange launches in LatAm
Open Banking Exchange is launched today in Latin America, including Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Mexico. It will soon be launched in other territories. Victor Rivera, Head of Open Banking Exchange, LATAM, says: “We’re thrilled to launch Open Banking Exchange into Latin America. It provides a central forum so that the different stakeholders within our ecosystem can effectively collaborate, share and learn from the success of OBE in Europe and ensure a smooth implementation of open banking locally.
“The region is eager to embrace financial innovation. We look forward to working with all stakeholders on their journey to make the region digital.”
Membership programme builds on acquisition
Mike Woods, CEO, Konsentus, adds: “The launch of Open Banking Exchange, following the acquisition of Open Banking Europe from PRETA earlier this year, accelerates Konsentus’ international expansion plans. It positions us at the centre of open banking ecosystems as they embark on their open banking journeys.”
Konsentus acquired Open Banking Europe SAS from PRETA in January 2021.
The software solutions of Open Banking Europe are directly integrated into the Konsentus business.
Open Banking Europe (OBE) set up in June 2017. It has been successful in bringing together market participants to turn regulatory requirements into operational reality. The initiative provides its members with a collaborative environment to identify market issues and problems. Moreover, it champions awareness and creates solutions via guidance, standards and tools.
UK headquartered RegTech Konsentus launched Europe’s first TPP regulatory checking sandbox in 2018.
