HSBC customers were left frustrated before Halloween weekend as the banking giant’s online banking service went down for a chunk of Friday.
Problems were first detected at 8:30am before customers took to social media to complain.
While the bank claimed the service was up-and-running by 9:30am, some customers were still unable to utilise the solution, leaving them on the last Friday of the month without access to their salaries.
Reports have stated the shutdown was due to an upgrade to the personal internet banking service which suffered a glitch.
This is the second of these problems that HSBC has suffered in 2017, the last one in January.
