American fintech company Fiserv has unveiled a new self-service system for banking customers to streamline branch operations.
The Interactive Branch Kiosk, as it is named, will enable the customers to conduct transactions within the branch lobby, drive-thru and other physical touchpoints.
Defined as a super-ATM, Interactive Branch Kiosk is equipped with additional functionalities not available in conventional teller machines.
Besides basic transactions, the device allows bank customers to make payments on loans, transfer money and authenticate over-limit cash withdrawals.
It also supports multilingual capabilities to enable the customers to interact in their preferred language.
Furthermore, the kiosk is integrated with Fiserv’s Verifast palm vein identification solution to authenticate every transaction following biometric verification. It can also accommodate other authentication capabilities such as card/pin and user id/password.
Fiserv general manager and senior vice-president of Fraud, Risk, ECM and Financial Solutions Shawn Holtzclaw said: “Interactive Branch Kiosk can automate a significant number of transactions that take place within a branch.
“Consumers are empowered to manage their interactions at their pace, and branch staff are free to focus on advisory roles and more complex tasks.”
The introduction of Interactive Branch Kiosk at bank branches is expected to boost operating efficiencies. It will also shoulder several banking operations, freeing the branch staff and enabling them to move into other revenue-generating activities.
The hardware of the system is manufactured by Hyosung. The kiosk is designed to directly integrate with a bank or credit union’s core account processing platform and card services network.
Earlier this year, Fiserv unveiled Mortgage Momentum, a solution designed to streamline the mortgage ecosystem of lenders and borrowers.
