First Global Data, a Canada-based financial services technology company, has launched its mobile payment service in India with Vijaya Bank under the brand VPayQwik.

The mobile payment wallet will enable shopping, quick mobile recharge, any-time bill payment, instant ticket booking.

Available in English, Hindi and Kannada, the VPayQwik mobile app can be used by the customers of the bank and also by non-customers.

The mobile app is available for download in the Google Play store, and will soon be available for download in the Apple store, First Global Data said.

First Global chairman and CEO Andre Itwaru said: "We are delighted that Vijaya Bank has chosen to partner with us. The launch was very successful and we are working closely with the bank with a focus to penetrate their millions of account holders by steadily increasing the number of clients using VPayQwik, then to increase the velocity of transactions toward our mutual objectives."

First Global Data executed the partnership with Vijaya Bank through its Indian subsidiary MSEWA Software Solution.

Government owned Vijaya Bank has more than 14 million active account holders.
