Citibank is set to launch new mobile capabilities on its mobile app for iPhone to offer an increased range of services to its US customers.

The new set of services, which includes in-app account opening service and a comprehensive view of the customer’s all financial accounts, are set to be rolled out in the coming weeks.

Furthermore, the new app will enable the non-Citi clients to create their profiles and connect their accounts across financial services providers.

Citi CEO of global consumer bank Stephen Bird said: “Over the past few years, we have been transforming our US Retail Bank into a growth engine in our core markets while developing new mobile banking capabilities as a platform to one day serve consumers nationwide.

“Consumers will be able to seamlessly open a Citibank account without ever visiting a branch and enjoy a suite of compelling products, the largest fee-free ATM network nationwide and powerful digital capabilities across lending, payments, investments and credit cards.”

The new services include In-app Account Opening function that will enable the Citibank customers to open a new account through the app as they can also start using the account instantly.
