Citi, a US-based diversified financial services firm, has added ‘ability to dispute a charge’ functionality to the Citi Mobile App for iPhone in the US.

The new feature enables Citi credit card members to quickly and easily dispute certain posted charges directly within the Citi Mobile App for iPhone in the US.

According to Citi, the new feature has been designed to offer better peace of mind to consumers while providing simplicity and transparency within an often emotional process.

Using the new tool, the credit cardholders can submit a merchant dispute on posted charges for various reasons such as damaged items, returned goods, duplicate charge, among others.

Upon submission of the dispute, cardholders will be notified through the app that Citi is taking action, the status of the case and what to expect next.

Citi chief customer and digital experience officer for global cards and consumer services Alice Milligan said: “In a world that is increasingly digital by default, we are intently focused on servicing our card members where they want and when they want.

“Citi is making great strides in transforming our servicing model and providing card members the ability to perform key banking tasks in their channel of choice.

“With this new dispute functionality within our mobile app, we’re excited to further elevate the digital experience and re-imagine what mobile banking looks like.”

Additional features of the Citi Mobile App include increased credit limit, facility to view recurring charges, and paperless statement enrollment.

Citi will also provide the ability for card members to dispute certain posted charges within the Citi Mobile App for Android later this month.

The latest release comes after the recent introduction of Citi Quick Lock, which is a new functionality that allows cardholders to “lock” their account with a simple tap or click within Citi Online or the Citi Mobile App.
