BLIK global goals boosted by significant growth

The Polish Standard of Payments created BLIK to provide simple and easy access to online payments.

In December 2013 the six largest banks in Poland joined together for this venture. The shareholders of PSP include: Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Bank Zachodni WBK, ING Bank Śląski, mBank and also PKO Bank Polski.

Affiliated banks serve about twenty million customers – approximately 80% of the Polish market.

2017 was a breakthrough year for BLIK. A six million, constantly growing group of BLIK users has made four times more transactions than in 2016. BLIK has become a common payment standard. More banks are jumping on board the BLIK train.

Since the beginning of 2017, Poles have made 33 million BLIK transactions, including almost 22 million online payments. Increasing number of transactions is connected with the growing popularity of BLIK among mobile banking customers in Poland. Currently, BLIK is used by 6.1 million people – twice as many as at the end of 2016.

The Polish banking sector is extremely dynamic and competitive. Payments is a key focus for the six major players operating in the industry.
