Spanish banking group Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) has selected Neoris and AuthenWare solutions to secure its employees’ intranet communications accounts.

The bank will use biometric authentication and real-time fraud detection software, developed by AuthenWare, and consulting services of Neoris to provide online security.

BBVA, along with Neoris, has developed in-house apps such as worldwide employee directory, internal newspaper and workflow tools. To secure the apps, BBVA selected AuthenWare solution as second factor authentication system.

BBVA technical and security director, Santiago Moral, said AuthenWare is part of their cyberbiometric architecture and acts as a mechanism for generating identity scoring.

"It allows us to have an additional element in the online risk decision making process of our employees," Moral added.

AuthenWare CEO, Felix Racca, said security is based on unnatural demands, such as remembering complicated passwords; that is why they developed a security solution that is based on human nature or human behaviours.

"With AuthenWare, users login normally and the authentication happens seamlessly in the background. Our technology identifies the user based on their behaviours. The result is that users adopt online security because it is easier and more convenient," Racca added.
