Comparing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $1.64bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $1.52bn.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for financial services industry venture financing deals globally, followed by Europe and then Asia-Pacific.

In second place was the $300m venture financing of Lemonade by Allianz Capital Partners, General Catalyst Partners, GV Management Co, OurCrowd, SoftBank Group and Thrive Capital and in third place was Blossom Capital, DST Global, Endeavor Catalyst, GIC and Insight Venture Management’s $230m venture financing of Checkout.

The $200m venture financing of Blockchain Exchange Alliance by ST Blockchain Fund and Accel, LeapFrog Investments and Technology Crossover Management VII’s venture financing of WorldRemit for $175m held fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
