Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC)
has rolled out CIBC Home Advisor, a smartphone app
designed to offer homebuyers access to practical information,
tools, and advice.

The app is available to
customers and non-customers of CIBC and operates on the Apple
iPhone and Blackberry smartphone platforms.

Christina Kramer,
executive vice-president, CIBC said:

“Buying a home and
choosing the right mortgage are among the biggest financial
decisions Canadians will make in their lifetime, which is why it’s
so important they have the tools and advice to make an informed
decision.”

The CIBC Home
Advisor
App for iPhone and BlackBerry allows users
to:

  • Track and compare properties visited by
    taking and storing photos and completing a homebuyer’s checklist
    for each home;
  • View neighborhood maps and gain access to
    average property valuations and trends;
  • Request detailed neighborhood reports for
    properties of specific interest;
  • Post, tweet, text or email details of
    properties and neighborhoods to share with family and friends in
    real-time;
  • Access calculators to determine
    affordability, rent versus buy options, home equity and
     mortgage payment options;
  • Request a CIBC pre-approved mortgage
    certificate to lock in an interest rate, and
  • Contact the nearest CIBC Mortgage
    Adviser.

CIBC was the first major
bank in Canada to roll out a mobile banking app for the iPhone last
February.
