The Agricultural Bank
of China has rolled out the country’s first integrated circuit (IC)
card, a smart card that enables the holder to pay for purchases as
well as enter restricted areas.

Agricultural Bank of
China’s IC card, titled Zhangjiajie Tourism Card, is particularly
intended for tourism purposes and integrates magnetic stripe
technology as well as chip card.

The bank said that
the card supports offline transactions.

The card is part of
the bank’s Kins credit card range and part of its strive for
innovation, the bank said.

The Agricultural Bank
of China launched its first card in 2004.

The bank said it had
nearly 25m credit cards in circulation.
