US-based company Citigroup’s IT hiring rose 4.8% in September 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 13.15% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 17.03% share in the company’s total hiring activity in September 2021, and recorded a 0.88% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Citigroup IT hiring in September 2021

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Citigroup, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 69.32% in September 2021, and a 0.47% drop over August 2021, while Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a share of 17.27% in September 2021, and registered growth of 1.38%. Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5.93% in September 2021, a 1.56% drop from August 2021.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Citigroup

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global banking and payments IT hiring activity in September 2021 with a 44.28% share, which marked a 13.27% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 38.16%, registering a 28.12% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 13.74% share and a 19.11% drop over August 2021.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.82% and a month-on-month decline of 6.25%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.99%, registering a 31.25% rise over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s banking and payments industry IT hiring activity with a 29.88% share in September 2021, a 71.16% growth over August 2021. India featured next with a 28.94% share, down 16.67% over the previous month. China recorded a 7.11% share, a decline of 27.75% compared with August 2021.

Mid Level jobs lead Citigroup IT hiring activity in September 2021

Mid Level jobs held a share of 53.27%, down by 2.75% from August 2021. Junior Level positions with a 27.34% share, a decline of 6.29% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Senior job ads with 12.94% share, up 19.05% over August 2021, while Entry Level postings accounted for 6.45%, recording a month-on-month decline of 4.86%.
