Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is set to launch the voice biometrics technology with the aim to facilitate banking transactions through phone or mobile devices.
The lender will be the first bank across the globe to provide voice biometrics in Arabic, English and Hindi.
In order to prove their identity and access their account via phone, a customer presently requires knowledge-based authentication through answering multiple complex security questions.
The new technology will simplify the experience for customers where they will not require PINs, passwords or security questions and instead, can be taken at their word.
Through voice biometrics, the customer’s spoken passphrase will be compared to a registered voiceprint, and if matched will authenticate the customer to perform the transactions.
According to the bank, the technology also addresses security concerns and reduces chances of fraud.
