Jibun Bank has implemented VASCO Data Security International’s DIGIPASS for Apps and VACMAN Controller to facilitate secure online and mobile transactions.
The DIGIPASS for Apps software developer kit (SDK) helped the bank incorporate an additional authentication feature into its self-developed mobile banking application.
The bank deployed VASCO’s one-time password (OTP) and electronic transaction signing security features that are used for bank account transfers and mobile phone number transfers in retail online banking services, and secure transactions for mobile and online users.
VASCO president and COO Jan Valcke said: "Foreign-based criminal organizations have been attacking Japanese online banks using advanced phishing attacks and hard-to-detect malware.
"With our DIGIPASS for Apps SDK, banks can protect their online and mobile customers against cyberthieves with an ever-growing library of the most sophisticated mobile application defense tools."
The bank believes it is the first implementation of electronic transaction signing in a mobile banking application.
