DBS Bank has unveiled the world’s largest API developer platform. The platform encompasses 155 APIs across more than 20 categories, such as fund transfers, rewards and real-time payments.
Shee Tse Koon, group head of strategy and planning, and head of Ecosystems, stated: “The digital momentum that we see today is just the tip of the iceberg. By creating ecosystem partnerships – collaborating, creating and innovating together with partners – we believe that we can provide the best products, solutions and experiences.”
DBS continues to boost its effort in creating innovative and personalised experiences for its customers. The platform has already been adopted by 50 companies including McDonald’s, MSIG, PropertyGuru and several start-ups.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said: “The DBS API partnership has helped us to speed up the process of payments so that our customers can focus on enjoying their meals.
“Speed is essential in this process, and we’re delighted that banks such as DBS are exploring the use of digital capabilities to smoothen such experiences.”
Recently, DBS has collaborated with governments, partners, fintechs and other players in the industry to make banking much quicker, simpler and efficient through the use of APIs.
