Puerto Rico-based Popular Community Bank has unveiled a payment feature, called Popular People Pay, to enable its users to make online and mobile banking transactions.
The platform allows peer-to-peer transactions in multiple ways such as email, text, account-to-account, check, and PayPal.
Popular People Pay, which requires only recipient’s email and/or mobile phone number to send a payment, is available to and from US-based bank accounts.
Following the fund transfer, the platform sends a notification via text or email with instructions to a person receiving money on how to claim it.
The bank in a statement said that PayPal users may receive and send funds directly into or from their Popular Community Bank accounts, which can be also received in other bank accounts.
Additionally, the banking platform enables users to check account balances, view up to 90 days of account history, pay bills, make transfers between internal accounts, make external transfers.
