The group aims to increase the number of customers served by its German businesses from around one million to two million by the end of 2028.

Crédit Agricole has operated in Germany for more than 70 years through several specialist operations.

These include Amundi, Crédit Agricole Assurances, Crédit Agricole Auto Bank, Crédit Agricole CACEIS, Crédit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank, Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring, Creditplus, and Crédit Agricole Savings.

The new operation will use Creditplus’ existing German network of 20 branches and 600 employees.

Branches in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich, and Stuttgart will provide areas where visitors can learn about the bank’s products and digital services.

The other locations will provide information and guidance.

Customers can open accounts and subscribe to products through the mobile application, the bank said.

At launch, Crédit Agricole Deutschland will provide current accounts with German IBANs, Visa cards, and savings products including Tagesgeld and Festgeld deposits.

The Visa card will offer access to 49,000 ATMs in Germany, as well as Visa ATMs internationally.

The mobile app will be used for onboarding, account management, and product subscriptions.

Customer support will be available by telephone from Monday to Saturday, from 8am to 8pm, as well as through email and live chat.

From 2027, the bank intends to add investment and wealth-building products, credit offerings, advisory services, premium packages, and further self-service features.

It also plans to support mobile wallets, including Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Crédit Agricole said it would introduce AI over time where it can improve service quality and customer journeys. The bank will combine digital services with customer support provided through its local network.
