Sovereign Bank, US retail arm of Santander, has launched a mobile banking app.

Available to Android and Apple users, the app gives users access to account balances, transfers, payment status checks, ATM/branch locator and digital customer service.

Nuno Matos, managing director of retail banking, Sovereign Bank, said: "Delivering great banking products and services is our top priority. We believe the intuitive interface and convenient features specific to the Sovereign Bank Mobile App will really be appreciated by our customers, and this is just the beginning.

Matos added: "We’re committed to continually enhancing the app’s features and functionality in order to meet the changing preferences of banking consumers."

To access the application’s features customers must first register for online banking.
