Jet Bank decided against traditional banking infrastructure, instead opting for a system that could support swift deployment and ongoing product development.
To meet these needs, Jet Bank selected Backbase’s platform as its core digital engagement layer.
This technology coordinates interactions across web and mobile applications and integrates with systems for banking, card processing, and external services.
The partnership enabled Jet Bank to move from initial development to user acceptance testing within about three months, noted the tech provider.

By GlobalDataFull operational capability as a licenced digital bank is expected within six months of the initial setup.
The chosen platform allows for monthly updates, enabling the introduction of new features and adjustments based on customer feedback while maintaining continuity in existing services.
Jet Bank CEO Fatbardha Rino said: “Our ambition is to set a new standard for digital banking in Albania by building a bank that feels intuitive, reliable, and relevant in everyday use.
“This partnership with Backbase gives us the digital foundation to launch quickly while maintaining the trust and discipline expected from a licensed bank. We’re not just launching an app – we’re building a platform that can continuously evolve with our customers.”
The bank will be able to manage activities such as onboarding, lending, investment services, and automated assistance through one consolidated system.
Backbase provided the required infrastructure through managed hosting and worked alongside Jet Bank throughout planning and implementation to meet project deadlines.
Looking ahead, Jet Bank plans to refine its service based on usage data, release additional features incrementally, and enhance its digital support options.
The underlying architecture is designed to allow for new functionalities such as personalised offerings and AI-driven services without affecting existing core processes.
Facilization, Jet Bank’s partner responsible for core banking systems, joined later to assist with further development.
Backbase regional vice president Robert Mihaljek commented: “JET Bank represents the future of digital banking – fast to market, built for continuous innovation, and designed around customer needs from day one.
“Their strategic choice to partner with a single, unified platform rather than assembling disconnected channels demonstrates the discipline required to build a truly scalable digital bank. We’re proud to support their vision and help them bring world-class digital banking to Albania.”
