German fintech Wirecard has announced new features to its boon Planet digital payment and banking solution, weeks after its launch.

The company will provide an interest of around 0.75% on current accounts from next year. Initially, the service will be available to all boon Planet users in Germany. Subsequently, it will be expanded to other countries as well.

Wirecard further noted that the offering will be expanded throughout the year adding new investment options.

Wirecard head of Consumer Solutions Claudia Kaub said: “With the additional functionality, we are continuing to pursue our goal of simplifying consumers’ entire everyday financial life with boon. This also includes attractive investment options.”

Last month, Wirecard introduced boon Planet, a payment app with neo-banking services.

The app allows customers to create a bank account, transfer money and make contactless payments.
