US-based Webster Bank has partnered with ACI Worldwide, a global electronic payment and banking technologies provider, to host its online banking platform, Universal Online Banker, for offering better services to its customers.
Webster’s application will run in ACI’s secure and fully compliant data center, which hosts banking and payment solutions for more than 4,000 financial institutions, retailers, and billers.
Webster Bank, which has $21bn in assets, offers an array of banking and consumer financial services to business, institutional and retail clients leveraging its 166 banking centers and 311 ATMs, as well as through phone, mobile and online banking.
ACI said that Webster is migrating to ACI’s hosted platform from an in-house system to serve clients’ online banking requirements more effectively, and improve usability while bringing new features to market quickly.
Webster Bank treasury & payment solutions senior vice president Phil Picillo said, "Because our clients have numerous options when it comes to online banking, it’s important to differentiate our product offering in this ultra-competitive market."
ACI Worldwide Americas senior vice president and general manager Jeremy Wilmot commented, "Innovative banks like Webster are turning to our hosted offerings to gain a competitive advantage in online banking."
