UnionBank of the Philippines subsidiary UBX has partnered with Temenos to deliver digital banking services in the country.
The partnership will enable UBX’s partner institutions to access Temenos core banking software. The capability will enable the rural banks, microfinance and cooperative entities to digitise their operations cost-effectively.
It will also make core banking modernisation more accessible and help the financial institutions to expand their businesses.
UBX is engaged in delivering a variety of plug-and-play services to the rural banks. The service enables the lenders to serve the unbanked and underserved people in remote areas through digital medium.
One such offering is i2i, which uses blockchain technology to facilitate transformation of banking operations among the rural entities.
The combination of UBX’s expertise in developing open platforms and Temenos’ T24 Transact will boost banking capabilities of the Philippine financial institutions.
