UK-based Tandem Bank has selected Trusona as its technology partner to boost its digital banking user experience by securing financial data across all channels.
To achieve this, Tandem bank deployed Trusona’s multichannel, PSD2-compliant passwordless solution for strong customer authentication (SCA).
The bank deployed the solution across its app and contact centres for secure multi-factor authentication.
Trusona’s technology empowers Tandem with the ability to eliminate the largest cyber threat vector related to static credentials.
This includes passwords, banking IDs, pins, codes and security questions.
In terms of user experience, Trusona’s technology is said to reduce user friction, promote app engagement and simplify digital self-service.

By GlobalDataTandem Bank COO Nick Bennett said: “Tandem has always been driven by providing excellent customer experience and we wanted to be able to extend that to the passwordless SCA experience across all our channels and customer journeys over time.
“Like all UK banks, Tandem is required to comply with Open Banking, including the provision of PSD2 SCA.
“Tandem selected Trusona as their passwordless solution is SCA compliant, but more importantly because they share our passion for providing a seamless customer experience, and their technology was quick and easy to deploy.”
Formed in 2018 as a digital savings bank, Tandem Bank chose Trusona’s technology to comply with the UK’s Open Banking SCA regulatory requirements.
The PSD2 or open banking regulations in Europe require all payment account providers to implement SCA for bolstering electronic payments security.
Tandem Bank is a challenger bank owned by financial services company Tandem Money, which is headquarted in London, UK.
