French software firm Sopra Banking Software has deployed a mobile banking app for bpost bank, a joint venture between BNP Paribas Fortis and the Belgian postal operator, bpost.
The mobile banking app, which went live on 20 January 2014, runs on all smartphones and tablets, and aims to meet the growing needs of customers who prefer mobile banking over traditional pc banking.
The Sopra’s mobile banking app allows customers to perform financial transactions without requiring a login, thus providing easy access while switching accounts.
bpost bank chief information officer, Piet Van Petegem, said all members of the same family can use the same app securely to make their own personal transactions.
"The app and connector they offered was not only the most logical choice, it was also the most flexible choice, with lots of freedom for extra configurations and all the functionalities we wanted," Petegem added.
Sopra Banking also serves as bpost bank’s core banking system partner for 20 years.
