French banking group Societe Generale has acquired Spanish lender CaixaBank’s 20.5% stake in the French online bank Boursorama.
Societe Generale said it is paying EUR12 per share for a total price of EUR218m ($249m).
The deal ends the partnership between Societe Generale and CaixaBank which began in 2006 after the sale of CaixaBank France to Boursorama by CaixaBank.
Societe Generale said it will remain the sole shareholder of Boursorama with 100% of the share capital and of the voting rights following this acquisition.
