Skye Bank, a commercial bank in Nigeria, has launched an outbound remittance service with the US-based money transfer company, MoneyGram.
The service will enable the bank customers and others in Nigeria, which was a receive-only country until third quarter, to send money to their family members abroad.
The MoneyGram outbound service will be available across all Skye Bank branches in Nigeria apart from the company’s 50 dedicated money transfer centres across its network, including Niger House, Marina Lagos; Benin, Ibadan and Enugu.
The bank said in a statement: "As Nigeria continues to position itself as an exciting market for growth, the provision of sound, safe and relevant financial services is imperative to ensure the country continues its rapid development.
"Skye Bank is very pleased with the strategic partnership with MoneyGram and we will work together to sustain and strengthen Nigeria’s financial linkages."
