Serverside Group, the card
customisation subsidiary of Gemalto, has been awarded a European
patent for its One Customer-One Card (OC-OC) technology.
OC-OC is a digital print technology
designed for the manufacturing of payment cards on demand.
Serverside said the technology allows an unlimited number of
designs to be processed at the same time and there are no minimum
order requirements.

According to Serverside, the
European patent granted at the end of July, follows patent awards
in a number of countries that protect its technology enabling
customers to design cards via its website.
Since its foundation in 2003,
Serverside has grown rapidly, running more than 1,000 card
programmes through its network of approximately 200 card issuers in
23 countries. Leading clients include Wells Fargo, ANZ, ING and
KBC.
