Poland’s financial market regulator KNF has approved BNP Paribas’s acquisition of agricultural lender Bank BGZ from Dutch financial group Rabobank.

KNF said BNP agreed to maintain share trading in the combined bank on the Warsaw bourse and increase the proportion of stock available to other investors.

Also, BGZ will take over BNP Paribas Bank Polska and will keep the BGZ name.

In December last year, BNP Paribas and Rabobank reached an agreement for the transfer to BNP Paribas of the 98.5% stake held by Rabobank in Bank BGZ .

The deal valued Bank BG? at PLN4.2 billion (approximately EUR1 billion).
