Bank Zachodni WBK, a Poland-based bank of the Santander Group, has integrated its m-commerce marketplace into its mobile banking and payment application to form a superwallet app that allows users to shop at different merchants embedded in the application.
Developed by mobile technology firm eLeader, the app is offered as a white label solution for banks in PaaS model.
The new BZWBK24 mobile banking app can now be used for making daily shopping, and buying bus tickets, with plans to add other purchasing options such as booking flights, hotels, cinema tickets, ordering taxis and take away food into the app in future.
The integration, however, does not affect the app’s mobile banking functionalities such as checking bank account balance or transferring money, claims Bank Zachodni WBK.
eLeader m-commerce head, Tomasz Krajewski, said their aim is to transform mobile banking into the first choice financial app for smartphone users by helping them in getting daily routines done.
"The newest studies point out that, above all, users perceive mobile wallets as a way to: buy goods online, pay bills, check bank accounts. All of these and much more can be achieved by one superwallet app," Krajewski added.
