US-based People’s United Bank (PUB) has launched a new fee-free digital identity and credit protection service for all its personal checking account customers.
Dubbed AlwaysChecking, the new solution has been launched in collaboration with global analytics firm Experian.

The service, according to the bank, will enable customers and their families to monitor their online, credit and family information on a centralised dashboard.
Customers will also be to access their credit scores, detect identity theft on social media platforms and online personal information including passports, licence, credit cards, among others.
People’s United Bank SEVP of retail banking Sara Longobardi said: “AlwaysChecking goes beyond the typical monitoring of bank-associated accounts and helps to protect and alert customers of any potential digital breaches for free.
“Similar to logging into online or mobile banking to view your financial profile and manage it from your fingertips, AlwaysChecking does the same for your digital identity.”

AlwaysChecking will send alerts with details to users who experience fraud or breach and equips them with educational materials and guidance to help mitigate the issue.
The bank has also established a dedicated call centre to guide subscribers on mitigation steps around the clock.
