Paytm, an Indian mobile payment company, has partnered with Bank of Maharashtra to offer mobile wallet top up service through bank ATMs.
The service will allow the bank’s customers to top up their Paytm Wallet through any of the bank’s 1800 ATMs using their debit cards.
The company said that it is planning to expand this service to more banks in the future. It is also in the process of partnering with other leading banks to help customers top-up their wallets using ATMs.
With this new feature, Bank of Maharashtra’s debit card users can now make mobile or utility bills payment, shop online at several loactions, pay for services such as cab fare, book travel and movie tickets by topping up their Paytm mobile wallets through the bank’s ATM network.
Paytm vice president Nitin Misra said: "This first of its kind wallet top up feature through the Bank ATMs is bound to make transactions easier and more accessible to everyone and we see this as a significant step towards powering cash free transactions."
