Digital payments services provider Nets has partnered with Carta Worldwide, a Canada-based digital transaction processing services provider, to offer secure mobile payments solutions to more than 200 banks across Northern Europe.

This deal will allow Nets to provide token services potentially to all of the banks that are being serviced by Nets across the Nordics and Baltics.

Under the partnership, Nets will use Carta’s Token Processing Appliance (TPA) to offer the service to its network of bank customers across Northern Europe.

Carta said that its TPA features set of hardware and software modules including tokenisation and token credential management and provisioning, along with an easily integrated SDK for client mobile payment applications.

Through this agreement, Nets will now provide bank customers an open solution that simplifies the process of supporting or deploying mobile payment solutions.

According to Carta, the TPA model is compatible across mobile payment solutions and supports both global and local payment schemes. It will also enable issuers operating through Nets as their processing partner to cost-effectively share a common infrastructure.
