National Westminster Bank (NatWest) has unveiled plans to close 11 branches across North Wales, UK.

The bank will close branches, including Rhos-on-Sea, Abergele, St Asaph, Denbigh, Rossett, Corwen, Llangollen, Buckley, Abersoch, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Tywyn in Gwynedd, in September 2015.

Following the closures, NatWest will introduce mobile van branch services to each community and will attempt to keep redundancies to a minimum by redeploying staff to nearby branches.

The move will affect the North Wales area leaving towns such as Corwen without a single bank.

North Wales assembly member Llyr Gruffydd said: "This is yet another bank abandoning vast swathes of Wales, leaving customers and small businesses with lengthy journeys and inconvenience to the next nearest branch.
