National Australia Bank (NAB) is set to hire 600 professionals across software engineering, data, architecture and security, to meet the changing needs of customers.
The latest move forms part of a broader recruitment drive to create 2,000 jobs by 2020, which was announced by the bank earlier this month. At the same time, the bank also revealed plans to slash 6,000 jobs thereby taking the net job reduction to 4,000.

The bank recently also announced plans to invest $4.5bn over the next three years to support digital transformation.
In order to support the recruitment drive, NAB appointed Yuri Misnik and Kyle McNamara as executive general managers. Both will report to NAB chief technology and operations officer Patrick Wright.
Misnik will head the bank’s business-facing technology teams such as digital technology and corporate functions, while McNamara will lead the bank’s program management office and change activities.
“We want the top talent in the industry to come and join us, as we change dramatically to become the very best bank we can be and give our customers the products and services they demand and deserve. We know this is an ambitious target and acknowledge the war for talent is intense, but these are the essential skills and roles we need in order to deliver our plan,” Wright said.
