Core banking software supplier, Temenos, has
announced that mobile payments solution provider Luup is to
integrate Temenos’ T24 banking components as part of Luup’s growth
strategy.

In additon, the firms have agreed a
multi-year strategic partnership agreement in an effort to
open up joint business and growth opportunities.

Luup’s retail banking offerings include
person-to-person money transfer and ATM cash-out,
person-to-merchant bill payments, salary payments and global mobile
remittance services.

Speaking at the Temenos Community Forum in
Berlin, Thomas Bostrøm Jørgensen, CEO of Luup said:”The mobile
payments market is extremely active and is expected to grow to be
worth as much as €415bn by 2013.

“By complementing our in-house expertise with
Temenos’ cutting edge technology we ensure that Luup’s solutions
offer financial institutions the most innovative and cost effective
solution.”

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi was the first
to sign up to the Luup Mobile Payment Network, with a number of
global tier one banks currently in negotiation.
