UK-based Lloyds Banking Group has reached an agreement with NCR for the installation of more than 1,200 SelfServ cash dispense and cash deposit ATMs throughout the country, which will also feature Britain’s first contactless card capability.
Equipped with contactless card capability and voice guidance for visually impaired customers, the SelfServ ATMs will replace legacy ATMs used by Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland and TSB for more than ten years.
Pioneering the installation of contactless card readers in ATMs in the UK, this will enable Lloyds Banking Group to activate the service as per requirement.
Apart from this, the new ATMs also feature larger 15-inch screen, which has been designed to create a bigger visual impact on the street, and two-sided thermal receipt printing.
Lloyds Banking Group ATM channel and branch security head Gillian Sephton said that the consumers are aware of the value that technology can provide when they bank with them and demand a compelling experience.
"Moving to NCR SelfServ ATMs provides us with the flexibility we need as we invest in the future for our customers," Sephton added.
