CUA, the largest credit union in Australia, has tapped fintech provider Kony to launch its new chat app dubbed iM CUA.

Powered by Kony DBX Engage, iM CUA enables users to opt for a personal banker every time they use the app.

CUA CEO Rob Goudswaard said: “iM CUA is different to other banks that have chat-based apps, in that it’s the only app in Australia where you know you are chatting to the same personal banker every time you log on – they get to know you and you can build a more personal connection.

“It offers the convenience of modern technology with a distinctly human touch.”

The app can be availed by users of Apple as well as Android devices. It is the first offering launched through CUA’s alliance with Pivotus, which was acquired by Kony earlier this year.

Kony DBX senior vice president and general manager Jeffery Kendall said: “As banks and credits unions race to deliver innovative digital banking services, many are looking for unique ways to maintain the personal relationships their customers and members value.
