Indian private sector lender HDFC Bank has deployed a mobile ATM facility for customers to help curb the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
HDFC’s mobile van carrying the ATM removes the need for customers to travel further from their localities to deposit or withdraw cash amid the nationwide lockdown.
The mobile ATM has been deployed in Coimbatore city in the state of Tamil Nadu.
HDFC Bank has already successfully deployed three such facilities as part of a pilot across Mumbai, New Delhi, and Allahabad.
The latest mobile ATM facility is said to be the fourth facility across the country.
All the locations where the bank deploys the mobile ATMs are chosen in consultation with local municipal authorities in respective cities.
