HSBC is reportedly considering shutting down its branch in Hook Parade in London, citing lack of customers amid growing popularity of internet and phone banking.
An HSBC spokeswoman said: "Footfall in our branches has fallen dramatically and is accelerating."
The branch is expected to close for business from 10 October 2014, with the branch’s employees to be transferred to other HSBC branches in the area. It is also working with some customers to help them reorganise their finances ahead of the closure.
The bank earlier closed its branch in Chessington for the same reason.
HSBC has been the most aggressive among the major high street banks to cut its branch network. Earlier in the month, the bank confirmed closures of 19 branches in response to falling demand for its high street services as more customers turn to the internet.
This year, HSBC has already shut 27 branches, bringing its network down to 1,117, reports Mail Online.
